Long Thin Farm in Stilbaai, Western Cape, South Africa offers a main farm house and two self-catering cottages. The property is situated beside a stretch of idyllic river as it carves a slow meandering path towards the sea.
The Farmhouse is situated directly on the Goukou riverfront with a private pool.
Stone Cottage and Milkwood Cottage are nestled in behind a small, picturesque olive grove a little further up the hill and offer beautiful views of the river and surrounding farmland. The riverfront is accessible from the cottages by taking a short stroll a few hundred yards sloping down through the vines and olive orchards. The private pool is not available to Cottage Guests.
All guests are welcome to explore the river on our kayaks to take in the most scenic surrounds, breathing in nature’s beauty. There are lovely riverside picnic areas as well as a jungle gym for kids. Safe hiking and cycling trails will take you through endless untouched fynbos with spectacular views of the river. The safe and secure town of Stilbaai is only 12k away from Long Thin Farm. With its fabulous beaches, weekend markets estuary & fishing harbour , golf club, restaurants and shops, Stilbaai has all you need for a fabulous holiday escape.Bath towels and bed linen are provided – please bring your own swimming towels.

FARM HOUSE
Tucked away in the most tranquil serene setting sits Long Thin Farm’s main house on the banks of the Goukou River. This beautiful house is surrounded by olive trees, milkwoods and the farm’s own vineyard. Sit outside on the spacious veranda and enjoy the wide variety of birdlife while sipping on some of Long Thin Farm’s red wine.
The main house sleeps 6 people, 2 bedrooms downstairs – both ensuite, and a further upstairs loft bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room are all open plan with stacking doors leading out to the veranda and pool. Enjoy the covered entertainment area with built-in braai and pizza oven. Solar in farmhouse. Bath towels and bed linen are provided – please bring your own swimming towels.
STONE COTTAGE
1 queen bedroom 1 alcove with 2 single beds | separate bathroom | kitchen | lounge | dining | fireplace | braai .A beautifully appointed original, old stone cottage. Sleeps 4. Two bedrooms on the ground floor – main with queen size bed and second private alcove with 2 single beds. The bathroom is shared. The kitchen, living and dining area is spacious and open-plan, fully equipped and fitted with an original cast-iron fireplace. There is a shaded patio and private braai facility (stocked with wood on your arrival) with outdoor table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine around the fire. Stone Cottage and Milkwood Cottage are nestled in behind a small, picturesque olive grove a little further up the hill and offer beautiful views of the river and surrounding farmland. The riverfront is accessible from the cottages by taking a short stroll few hundred yards sloping down through the vines and olive orchards. Stone Cottage is located close enough to Milkwood Cottage to enjoy proximity if 2 family’s book together.
MILKWOOD COTTAGE
1 ensuite bedroom | loft | separate bathroom | kitchen | lounge | dining | fireplace. Beautifully restored to expose some of its original stonework, this cottage sleeps 2. with an ensuite bathroom. The kitchen, living and dining area is spacious and open-plan, fully equipped and fitted with a cast-iron fireplace for winter. The riverfront is accessible from the cottages by taking a short stroll few hundred yards sloping down through the vines and olive orchards. There is an undercover patio with loungers to enjoy a good book and bird watching or just looking out over the orchards at the river view. The private garden has a private braai facility (stocked with wood on your arrival) with outdoor table and chairs to enjoy an evening meal under the stars.
