Pauline Bohnen Nature Reserve Walk

Join Christina Mars on 30 September for a relaxed and informative walk through the Pauline Bohnen Nature Reserve in Stilbaai.

Located alongside Stilbaai East and adjacent to Lappiesbaai, the reserve is named after botanist Pauline Bohnen, whose dedication helped lead to the proclamation of the area as a conservation area. It protects unique fynbos plant communities, including numerous plant species that are endemic to the area.

Discover the reserve’s Albertinia Sand Fynbos, found on alkaline to neutral soils, as well as Limestone Fynbos on the higher-lying areas. Seasonal watercourses also support distinctive vegetation throughout the reserve.

This is an easy walk and a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Stilbaai’s unique natural heritage.
