Indigenous Plants for Stilbaai Gardens

As part of the Stilbaai Fynbosfees, join us at Tuin-op-die-brak for an informative presentation on choosing the right indigenous plants for Stilbaai gardens.

Stilbaai is situated in a unique part of the Cape Floristic Kingdom, namely the Hessequa region. This means that many typical “Cape plants” are not necessarily suited to Stilbaai’s specific growing conditions.

During this presentation, a selection of plant species that will thrive in Stilbaai gardens will be discussed. The ideal growing conditions for more selective plants will be explained, along with tried-and-tested favourites that are less fussy and reliable performers in the garden.

After the presentation, a variety of small plants will be available for purchase at the Klipgebou. The garden experts, Naomi van Schalkwyk and Anna Francies, will also be on hand to offer knowledgeable advice and guidance.
