The Geelkrans Trail is named after the impressive yellow sand cliffs visible along this pristine stretch of coast, situated in the Geelkrans Nature Reserve to the east of Stilbaai. It starts at the parking area at Preekstoel (Stilbaai East) and first meanders through coastal fynbos and rhenosterveld, then returns via the coast. You can also walk further along the coast to the east, where the most impressive cliffs are found, before turning back. A permit from CapeNature must be bought at the start. Distance: Between 6 to 16 km. Time to complete: 3 to 6 hours. Make sure to walk the coastal route at low tide.
