Margaret Smith BA Fine Arts degree (UNISA) Qualified High School art teacher. I taught art for Matric and A levels and was Head of Department at St Stithians and Roedean Colleges in Johannesburg. I am originally from Zimbabwe. I am married to Mike. We retired to Stilbaai in 2000 and I gave art classes to children then adults for a number of years. I do painting in oils and acrylics mostly of landscapes, children playing on the beach, dogs, horses, birds, old buildings and still life.
I also do some sculpture. I love nature and take my inspiration from the world around me. My camera is my best friend and I use this as a reference for my work. I have exhibited at a number of venues and currently belong to the Stilbaai Fine Art Focus group which holds exhibitions in Stilbaai three to four times a year. I occasionally do commissions. I also enjoy photography as an art form and belong to the Stilbaai photographic group.
