Baptist Church in Stilbaai East was originally constructed by the Dutch Reformed Church (NG Kerk) of Riversdale in 1928, serving as the first permanent place of worship in the area. Over time, the building experienced structural issues, including roof rot and dampness in the 1940s, leading to repairs such as replacing the thatched roof with asbestos and plastering the exterior walls in 1956.
A complete restoration was undertaken in 1989. In 2020, the Dutch Reformed congregation moved to a new church building in Stilbaai East, and the original structure was taken over by the Baptist Church.
